Steve Kilbey / Gareth Koch - Broken Toys (Single) (2019)

Steve Kilbey and Gareth Koch have teamed up to make some new music together

What happens when the musical paths of an Australian music symbol and a traditionally prepared ARIA Award victor impact? Steve Kilbey and Gareth Koch intend to address that question with their new coordinated effort, Broken Toys.

Released April 12th, 2019, the soon after released music video for the track demonstrates a variety of sparkling visuals and POV film which supplements the mind blowing sound Kilbey and Koch have made.

Among the sounds that can be heard in the ground-breaking single are percussion by Barton Price (of Models acclaim), traditional and 12-string guitars, Dobros, and a 1966 'Beatle Bass'.

Broken Toys may be the first music of more to be produced by the duo. Be on the lookout for more of their collaborative efforts.

Steve Kilbey released a new solo record on November 23rd, 2018 on Golden Robot records.

Kilbey Kennedy - Glow and Fade (2017)

Australia's Kilbey Kennedy is a collaboration between the Church lead singer Steve Kilbey and All India Radio's instrumentalist Martin Kennedy. Formed in 2009, the duo make atmospheric, electronic-tinged pop/rock influenced by their shared love of '70s sci-fi, '60s psychedelia, and '70s Krautrock and prog rock. Originally, the idea for the collaboration came in 2005 on the heels of Kennedy releasing his solo album Big Spaceship on the Karmic Hit label, which was run by Kilbey's brother, John.The Church frontman heard the album and floated the idea of working on a project. With Kennedy handling most of the instrumental duties and Kilbey supplying lyrics and melodies, they debuted with 2009's Unseen Music Unheard Words. (Allmusic bio)
