Coffee With Star - Sense Of Place Sydney : Steve Kilbey "Under The Milky Way" - World Cafe

Coffee With Star - Sense Of Place Sydney : Steve Kilbey "Under The Milky Way" - World Cafe One of the high points of World Cafe's visit to Sydney, Australia, for our Sense of Place series was the opportunity to sit down with Steve Kilbey, the lead singer of The Church. The Australian band has been releasing psychedelic-rock albums since the late '70s and is best known for its worldwide hit "Under The Milky Way." But on this day in the studio, we got to hear Kilbey perform solo. This is a musically fascinating session that draws from all of Kilbey's career — both his solo albums and his work with The Church — but it's also a deep and candid conversation on topics as personal as his longtime addiction to heroin. --------------------------------- https://goo.gl/T7AexG Twitter :https://twitter.com/CoffeewithStar Website : https://goo.gl/MCGmrG ---------------------------------------------- The "Coffee With Stars" is a structured conversational process intended to facilitate open and intimate discussion, and link ideas within a larger group to access the "collective intelligence" or Collective wisdom in the room. Participants move between a series of tables where they continue the discussion in response to a set of questions, which are predetermined and focused on the specific goals of each Coffee With Stars. A café ambience is created in order to facilitate conversation and represent a third place. In some versions a "talking stick" may be used to make sure that all participants get a chance to speak. As well as speaking and listening, individuals are encouraged to write or doodle on a paper or tablecloth so that when people change tables they can see what previous members have expressed in their own words and images.
