There is an interesting story pertaining to Violet Town beginnings.
In late 2001, Glenn Page purchased an original studio audio demo reel of three Steve Kilbey songs recorded on Dec.14, 1983 via an eBay auction and had them mastered to a CD at award-winning Pinewood Sound in Vancouver Canada.

Wanting to share these rare tracks with fellow fans on the Seance mailing list and elsewhere, a new site was hatched. That resulting embryo was Disillusionist.net radio. Just one year later Violettown.com saw it's beginnings as a Church band fansite.
 

The E.P. by Steve Kilbey was thereafter called "The Collector EP". The initial idea was to create a multimedia website to "spread the Church "gospel" and find new collectors to behold the vast offerings of the grand Church band and related artists discographies.
